LoFi in HiFi is a free monthly listening event series at Memphis Listening Lab bought to you by Shangri La Records and two native Memphians with a passion for Memphis music.
With six classic albums by legendary artists, this series celebrates the underground Memphis rap scene of the early 90s and 2000s and it's continued impact on popular music and culture today.
Dubbed one of the best record stores in the USA by Rolling Stone, Shangri La Records is a Memphis music institution. Founded in 1988, Shangri La is more than just a record store. Between its record label, projects, annual festivals, and hundreds of live shows, it continues to be a major contributed to Memphis Music scene.
Memphis Listening Lab is a curated collection of music and music history, a forum for music-related talks and performances, and a music education, appreciation, and experimentation space located in Crosstown Concourse.
